Pets' vaccination
Why do we organise this every year? Because we have a lot of cats living close to each other, and because it saves us the trouble of moving every cat to a vet in town. It is also cheaper.
What is it exactly about? Cats' cocktail:
* Cat flu (Niesziekte) symptoms can include a snotty nose, discharge from the eyes, sneezing, eye ulcers & more. Cats can feel quite sick but will normally not die from it. It can be prevented by one vaccination shot every year.
* Feline distemper (Kattenziekte) attacks the lining of the gastrointestinal tract. This results in profuse and usually bloody diarrhea, severe dehydration, malnutrition, anemia, and often death; the mortality rate is above 50%! Vaccination should happen every 2 or 3 year, more often is not effective but also not harmful.
Rabbits' coctail:
VHS & Myxomatose, well known among rabbit friends.
Rabbits can only be threated if we have at least 10 subscriptions. If we not succeed in that, we have a deal with the veterinarian for student reduction in case you want to go there.
Costs: To be paid during the vaccination itself.
The veterinarian will also have worm pills and flea spray available for a limited price.
In 2016, this action has been.
